Amir Khan receives Sports Personality of the Year gong

CHAMPION boxer Amir Khan has been named Sports Personality of the Year at the British Asian Sports Awards.
The IBF Intercontinental champion and Commonwealth light-weight title holder, from Bolton, received his award at a ceremony in London. Khan, 21, beat off competition from cricketer Monty Panesar and badminton player Aamir Ghaffar to win the title.
