SEVEN-year-old Chantelle Haighton and 12-year-old Faran Tariq showed off their skills when they joined other youngsters at a summer sports school. About 40 children have been attending the free school which is being held at Hyndburn Park Primary School, Accrington.
The young people have been taking part in cricket, rounders and basketball, but Mohammad Ayub, the project co-ordinator in charge of the summer school, says football is the most popular activity.
He said: "We have professional coaches at the summer school so the children always want to play football. They have been enjoying it very much."
Hyndburn Cultural Association organised the summer school, which will run for two more weeks, for children between the ages of six and 16.
If anyone is interested in joining they should go to Hyndburn Park Primary School at 10am on a weekday, for more information or to sign up.
