Youngsters have a ball

FOOTIE-mad youngsters from across the borough descended on central Oldham for a community tournament.


Greenhill FC, in partnership with Oldham Athletic, hosted the event which attracted teams from Alexandra, Greenhill, St Anne's, Broadfield, Horton Mill and Coppice schools.


The Year 4 and 5 competition was won by St Anne’s, who beat Horton Mill 1-0 in the final. A second competition was won by Greenhill, who beat Coppice 1-0. Abid Hussain, chairman at Greenhill FC, said: “I would like to thank all the schools for attending and taking part in our club competition.


“We are a thriving local club which encourages young people take part in constructive and organised competitions on a regular basis, regardless of their abilities.”
