Cricket tournament will raise money for hospice

ROCHDALE based British Asian Sports and Arts Foundation (BASAF) will be holding a 6-a-side charity cricket tournament during the bank holiday weekend to raise money for charity.
The tournament, which will be held on 25 August at Thornham Cricket Club, is in aid of Springhill Hospice and organisers hope to raise over £1,000.
There are 10 teams taking part and will include professional players from Pakistan, Sri-Lanka and the West Indies.
It will take place at Thornham Cricket Club grounds on Rochdale Road, Castleton (behind All In One Garden Centre) and will start at 10.30am.
