Soap stars will clash with Oldham Asians

Asian footballers in Oldham will be up against a celebrity
football team at the town's local football club.
The event will see some of the best Asian football players from
local teams who will unite to play against stars from Coronation
Street, Emmerdale and Brookside at a charity event at Oldham
Athletic's Boundary Park.
The celebrity dream team will also be helped out by some former
Latic players.
The aim of the charity event is to raise money for Oldham Athletics
- a club gripped by a financial crisis.
Said Latic's community cohesion officer, Abdul Basit: "This is a
fun event to raise money for the club and at the same time will
raise the profile of young Asian footballers as Latics scouts will
be on the lookout for new talent.
"It's the first time we have done this and for many Asian players
it might be the first and only time they are up against
celebrities."
The charity match will be held on 5 October and tickets are £2 and
£1 for under 12s.
